Hello Racers!
Happy April!! Everyone has been busy racing and competing to gain that top position and I am happy
to announce our second goal winner of the District closest to the 85% goal by March 15 th . And it was
a close one. This District pulled it out right on the 15th to go from second to first place.
Congratulations to District 2 Mustangs for taking another medal and $25 for reaching 81.81% on
3/15/24. Just edging out District 1 Olds who had the lead up until Friday. Great job to everyone for
stepping it up and getting those members in. If it is any consolation, those Olds are back in first place
at 82.20% as of 3/20/24.
It has been so much fun visiting the Districts, you have been so welcoming and I love hearing about all you are doing to reach out to our Veterans within your Units and as Districts so keep up the good work. The membership spreadsheets are attached but a quick review of National stats, CT is in 10th place in the Eastern Division but our Eastern Division is in 3rd place at
88.97% with Southern at 89.60% so come on we can take them with some effort coming from CT.
Congrats to the 20 Departments across the U.S. that reached the 85% goal, we are at 79.36% so we
do need to keep working on membership, let’s not get lazy. Now is the time to really push and push
hard.
Don’t hold any memberships, get them in, get those transfers in, get those new memberships
in – weekly! We need 737 members to make 100%. And we need these members to pay our bills
and keep our organization strong so we can continue to operate. Membership is our biggest source
of revenue.
Fundraisers can only take us so far and if you don’t participate in the fundraisers then we
are not gaining much from them either. So please, work your membership lists, call me to help you. I
am willing to call your members. We can work together to make it happen. Together Everyone
Achieves Membership!
I look forward to seeing more of you as I travel around and as always, I thank you for all the hours
you volunteer and your hard work to support our Veterans, our Military, and their families!

Hello Racers!
March is here and Spring is around the corner! It has been great visiting so many of your Units and
Districts and have more on the way this month. We have past the January 31st deadline and the
second renewal notices were sent out in early February so if you are not seeing renewal
memberships coming in, please reach out to those members with a phone call and gentle reminder of
how valuable they are to your Unit, our organization and most importantly our Veterans and Military. I
have not seen much activity or increases over the early weeks of February so it is time to hit the gas
and take the foot off the brake. We have a goal this month of 85% by March 15 and the first District to
reach, or close as possible, will get their medal and $25! And it is important for the Department to
reach these goals, financially, and it can only be accomplished with you reaching your Unit goals. As
of 2/14/24, the Department is at 74.96% and we need 894 members to reach 100%. It may seem like
a lot but if you can get your current member renewals, new Juniors, and new members then that is
not too much for 72 Units across the state. The membership sheets are attached in this newsletter.
Lots of events happening at Posts and Units that are open to the public – do you have a membership
table set up with someone at it to answer questions and hand out materials?
Nationwide the Auxiliary is at 80.39% with Eastern Division in 3rd place at 80.88%. Within the Eastern
Division, CT is in 8th place. Congrats to the D6 Bel Airs for being in First Place at 78.59%.
On another topic, there seems to be some confusion with transferring members from one Unit to
another Unit. If you want to transfer, the member data form needs to have the first top section filled
out and then turn over and fill out the Unit Transfer section and bring or mail that to the new Unit for
them to agree and to sign and they submit to the Department for processing. Do not fill out the new
member information section because they are not new, just transferring, and then they will have two
membership numbers in two different Units which is just incorrect. Any questions, please reach out to
me to avoid unnecessary work to correct it with the Department and with National.
As always, I am appreciative of your hard work and all you do to support our Veterans, our Military
and their families!

Hello Racers!
Welcome to February!!! We are moving along our membership roadway, but now that the grace
period is over, January 31, you need to get those members renewed or they cannot vote at your
meetings and they forfeit their privileges and benefits.
January showed some improvement with 4 teams above 70%, 1 team right on the edge at 69% and 2
teams in the mid-60%. We have five Units at 100% or above! That’s racing, keep it up! I have been
calling Units and have received great feedback on what you are doing for membership.
I hope you enjoyed Mid-Winter Conference with the awards that were given out. There will be more
surprises as we race around the state. As of 1/17/24 we are at 2489 members at 69.72% and just shy
of getting to that 70% goal for a Department. For Eastern Division we are still in 7th place. Our next
goal is 85% by March 15 -- we can do this! National is sending out the second renewals on February
1, 2024, so hopefully that puts some gas in these members tanks to get themselves renewed.

Hello Racers,
First, wishing you and your families a very Happy Holidays and Happy New Year!!!
Thank you for all you have done to support me with getting membership into our organization since
August. It is appreciated. Our job is not done. We have many Units still very low and a few 0 Units
still out there. I have called them. I have some positive responses but on those that will not return
my calls or emails I ask that you put the hammer down on the track and reach out to them. I hope
that in early January they will have sent in their membership.
The race is finally picking back up and some Units with flat tires along the roadway have finally
started back up racing again!!
Current standings are as follows:
D2 Mustangs - 1st place at 69.61%, great job!
D6 Bel Airs - came roaring back to 2nd place at 68.56%
D3 Chevelles - 3rd place at 67.50%
D7 Mercury Coupes - 4th and gaining on the track at 65.69%
D1 Olds 442 - 5th at 62.92%
D4 Chargers - 6th but at least made it to 60.58%
D5 Camaros - 7th and finally seeing some track progress
Overall we are at 64.37% as a Department with 2298 members paid out of 3570. So, we need to kick
it up to make our next goal of 85% by March 15, 2024 and you know we can do it. Just set your mind
on overdrive, get those calls made, get your Unit members involved to reach out to other members
they may know. And what about new members? Are you reaching out to Legionnaires that may
have family members not yet members? And those Juniors - lots of zeros in the columns for Units,
let's get them in, they add greatly to your numbers.
On the National level 10 states are at or above 70% and we were so close to make that cut. We also
received an email that Units need to be sure when sending membership into the Department in
January that they specify 2023 or 2024 dues payments. Our Department needs to be very specific
with National when Karen inputs so she needs that exact info from you to assist her. The member
can pay for 2024 even if they did not renew for 2023. Then come February 1, 2024 members must
pay their 2024 dues before they can pay any back years so they keep their membership up to date.
Then they can pay back dues to keep their years intact.
There was a great blog, and you might have seen it if you receive National's eNews, about if your
members are on the fence about renewing. Check it out for some good ideas.
National started that letter campaign and we did get one as I think I mentioned in a previous email.
As some of you may have seen on Madam President JenN's FB page, National has now started a text
message program. It is a trial and a small group only will be involved. It is a text message to remind
people to pay their dues and there are instructions and a link on how to renew. If it seems
successful, they will do it on a larger scale. Sounds like it could be helpful and grateful that they are
trying ways to help all of us get those members renewed. I do not think our folks will be part of it but
in case anyone should be and receive a text, it is not a scam and it is National reaching out. But if
they have any questions, just direct them to me.
I look forward to seeing all of you at Mid-Winter, please try to attend or send someone from your
Unit. Some membership awards will be given!!!!
I am planning on another membership leaders meeting in February and will get back to you with a
date.
Again, enjoy your holidays with your families and friends and stay safe.
I am always a phone call or email away if you need anything. I love talking to all of you!

Hello Racers!
These past few weeks I have enjoyed driving around the state to visit with many of you. Truly appreciate the warm welcome at each Unit or District I visited. You are all doing a great job! As of the last report I have from National on 10/18/23 (to get into this edition) we are still ahead of last year with 244 more members and each week I see an increase in membership. But we know this will decline unless we get onto those phones and reach out to members who have not yet renewed. We still have too many zero Units! Now those D2 Mustangs took over the lead and have been keeping it for past couple weeks but D6 Bel Airs are not that far behind. Lots of back and forth passing for positions between the other District muscle cars so keep up the good work, every one, on moving forward in our road race. On the National level – Eastern Division is still last and CT is in fourth place. National sent out renewal emails on October 24th to all former members asking them to rejoin. So, we may be seeing some renewals from this eblast coming to us. I had my first National zoom meeting on 10/18 and it is amazing what is happening across the country with regards to various state themes and how other states go about renewing members and gaining new members.
I am back on the road this month and setting up more visits but if you need me sooner, I am just a call away.
For God and Country.

Hello Racers!
Great seeing you all at PIC and thanks for providing me with your Unit information. We have seen some activity in the past couple of weeks on the Rally road course! And others are dragging a bit so perhaps a quick pitstop is in order. Our 6th District Bel Airs are on the move, increasing their lead and remaining in first place. But watch out because the 2nd District Mustangs are catching up fast! The first renewal letters from National were sent out on September 15th so hopefully that will bring in more memberships. PUFL members should be showing paid for your Units.
Update from National (9/20/23) – we are in third place in the Eastern Division with 604 members at 16.15%, which is 111 members more now than at this time last year. Let’s keep that first goal of 75% by December 7th in sight. Who wants that medal and $25?? Make that first call and check on your members and welcome them back to your Units. I will be out on the road to visit and help with whatever you need. I am just a call away.

Above is our Rally Road Race track across CT. Each red dot is a Diner for you to take a pitstop and fuel up! Our Jonathan heads are for the National goals to be reached by Department. I have adopted them to also be District Goals. First District to reach each of the goals, 75%, 85% and 95%, on or before the goal date will be awarded $25 and an engraved medal/ribbon with the accomplishment. First District to arrive at 100%, or closest to it, will receive $100 and the Muscle Car Trophy. We will also have some surprise incentives along the way.
Our National President, Lisa Williamson, being from Alaska is running a sled dog team race and Scout is her baby husky guide. That is why all the goal points are actual Iditarod Race Checkpoints. But of course we needed to have Jonathan lead us to these goals!
