Hello Members,
At this time we are accepting order at the discretion of the poppy committee, as the deadline for orders was December 31, 2023.
Currently, only 3 people are making all the poppies for CT. we make each order as they come in and don't have any pre-made and stored, so we are unable to have orders done immediately. However, we are trying to make them as quickly as we can.
Orders are made as we get each one, and brought to the ALA Department office. Just as example, the entire process for 1000 is about 2-3 days, with varying times due to health and other obligations. We will try our hardest for those asking now for March, but we are working on orders we already received.

POPPIES
Symbolism of the Poppy
The red petals stand for the vast outpouring of blood; the yellow and black center, the
nude and desolation of all battlefields; the green of the stem is symbolic of the forests,
meadows and fields where generations of Americans have perished to make this land
free. The stem represents the courage and determination of our fallen warriors. The
assembled product, a flower, is a symbol of Resurrection, which is sure to follow.

WANTED!!!
The Poppy Committee is REALLY hoping to get some interest from people who are able to
volunteer to learn to make poppies for the Department of CT.
At this time all poppies are made by the AMAZING Christine Anderson, with help from her
two WONDERFUL daughters. But to keep making poppies and doing it timely, help would be
greatly appreciated.
If there is any interest in learning to make poppies, or helping in any way, please contact Dept
Headquarters or Poppy Chair Julie at [email protected]. We would love to have a "class"
to teach anyone willing to learn. When contacting us, please specifiy times and best days of
week available to try to set up a schedule.
I may also try to set up a video showing how to make a poppy, if there is any interest.
