Be the face of the American Legion Auxiliary! Get your family involved, ask your friends, ask your neighbors. Promote it at your worksite, at your Church, at other committees or organizations you support. We can increase membership but we need to ask the first question - start the conversation. It begins with you!

Hello everyone! Please consider helping the Department with this fundraising event. We cannot support our Veterans and Military and their families if we do not have the funds to support the Department budget. Orders must be placed by April 1st. For those that do not know how to open the attachment, I have the full instructions listed below.
Please send this out to your family and friends, they make great gifts especially for Easter and Springtime birthdays etc.

The polo shirts seem to be tapering off quite a bit so if you want one, you’ll have to place your order prior to Dec 31st. We still need 8 more white shirts before we can place that order. If we don’t have the 8 more orders by November 1st we will have to cancel the orders we do have and issue a refund. We just placed the 3rd order for the red and blue shirts. They should be in by October 30th. The purple up shirts are still doing ok. We have placed an order for the v necks to increase our inventory. These shirts would make great holiday gifts!

Message from Unit #96
Attention Auxiliary members and your families, there is a West Hartford World War II veteran, Ben Cooper, looking for company. His is very acute mentally and does not require care, just some companionship so that his daughter can leave the house. She does not like him to be home alone. Any time you can volunteer would be greatly appreciated. You do not have to commit to weekly visits. Tuesday visits are a preferred day of the week. Please contact [email protected] for more info or contact Elaine (860) 232-9965. We are sure you will enjoy his company and stories. Thank you. Hayes-Velhage Unit 96.

Notes From the Office
- When sending checks to the office please do not staple the check to any paperwork- a post-it note works well to keep the check with the papers. Donations for all general programs (Americanism, AEF, Children and Youth etc.) can be sent in one check. Donations for Veterans Affairs & Rehabilitation must be on a separate check. Example if sending for AEF and Americanism and any VA&R program- please send 2 checks.
- When sending membership to the office, please make sure to use the correct year’s transmittal form. Use back dues transmittal only for previous years dues – make sure to indicate if it is Senior or Junior and what year is being paid. When sending a new member’s information – keep the application and all supporting information in your unit – transfer all the information onto a Member Data Form and include that form with the transmittal. If you are in need of transmittal forms or data sheets contact the office and we will send them to you.
- When mailing anything to the Department office, send it to P.O. Box 266, Rocky Hill, CT 06067.
With great excitement, please see our new logo from National. We will continue to keep our emblem for official, historical and legal purposes but this new logo will be for marketing, recruiting and fundraising purposes.
